RAQUEST GmbH has established a five-member Advisory Board at the beginning of the year 2023. The new Advisory Board unites renowned experts who distinguish themselves through their expertise in the financial industry and in the area of foreign withholding tax. The board will provide RAQUEST with consultation on current developments in the market as well as on the positioning and strategic development of the company.
The fintech RAQUEST is part of the Halvotec Group and offers financial institutions an automated software solution for simple reclaim and advance relief at source processes of foreign withholding tax. With renowned German and international custodian banks/financial institutions as clients, RAQUEST is one of the leading withholding tax tools. With the new Advisory Board, RAQUEST now introduces its expert committee, which will support the company in an advisory as well as supportive capacity with its market knowledge in terms of strategy and internationalisation. The aim of the Advisory Board is also to discuss the great potential of withholding tax optimisation from multiple perspectives as well as to give additional impulses to current developments and topics of discussion. To this end, the Advisory Board combines experienced external specialists from various areas of the financial industry:
Peer Steinbrück is a graduate economist as well as a German politician. From 2005 to 2009, he was the German Federal Minister of Finance as well as the Deputy Federal Chairman of the SPD. After resigning from his seat in the Bundestag, Peer Steinbrück became an advisor to the Management Board of ING.DiBa AG in Germany. He also holds the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the tax fintech eClear.
The banking specialist has over 30 years of experience in the global financial industry and has held various top management positions. Until the end of 2020, Roland Boekhout was Chief Corporate Officer at Commerzbank AG. From 2017 to 2019, he was a member of the Executive Board of the international ING Group. Prior to that, he was appointed to various management positions within ING, and was CEO at ING-DiBa AG as well as CEO of ING Commercial Banking Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Today, Roland Boekhout works as an external advisor for Bain & Company.
Ross McGill is Chairman of TConsult, a UK consultancy specialised in cross-border tax issues. Ross McGill has over 25 years of experience in foreign withholding tax as former Managing Director of GlobeTax. He also contributes to the global tax debate as an author and is member of various international committees such as the ISO20022 Securities Evaluation Group and the EC Tax Barriers Business Advisory Group.
Prof. Dr. Jarass taught economics at RheinMain University and is author of numerous publications. He also advises the European Commission and the European Parliament on the subject of reforming corporate taxation. He additionally works as an expert for the Finance Committee of the German Bundestag.
Peter Gaubatz studied International Financial Management and has worked at Goldman Sachs and BNP Paribas. Since 2015, he has been working for Scalable Capital, one of the most successful German fintechs based in Munich. In this role, he led the Investment Management and Operations departments and assisted the company in entering international markets and scaling its business model. Peter Gaubatz became Managing Director of Scalable Capital in 2020.
